Horseradish is a root crop much prized for its pungent flavour.
We grow the crop on an annual basis, from our own selected root stock, planting out the pieces of root in April.
We give the crop a full growing season to bulk up the roots and develop a good flavour, and then harvest from November to March. We then grade the crop by hand into 2 saleable grades and select out pieces of root for next year’s planting. Saleable roots are delivered for processing or cold stored until required.
